By now, you’ve probably noticed a few significant changes from canon, and I figured it would be a good time to go into some of those. I’m not going to go into detail on all of it, in order to avoid spoilers, but if you want to skip this anyways feel free.

There are two primary differences from canon, the first of which hasn’t really come up yet but is obvious from the title, and the second being a change to the timeline. The details on the first one will be revealed in time, but as for timeline shifts the primary point of divergence is that the attack on Max is pushed forwards by a year. This means that the Giordano’s stay in New York, and instead of moving away from the city Max chooses to stay and go to a college in another part of town. In California things mostly go the same where not directly influenced by Max’s presence. Taylor still breaks up with Gordo before her 18th birthday, Willa starts dating Natalia, etc. The primary differences are that the squad votes against going to regionals, and Taylor hasn’t realized she’s a lesbian.
